Dr. Stosich Concludes Series in Orthodontic Practice US
GRAYSLAKE, Ill.– Dr. Michael Stosich has become a regular on the cover of a leading orthodontic publication. Elected to detail the biology of tooth movement in Orthodontic Practice US, Dr. Stosich wrapped up his three part series in the March/April 2014 issue.
“Education is a powerful thing. I enjoy teaching other professionals,” says Grayslake area orthodontist Dr. Stosich, who is recognized as an expert in the biology of tooth movement. “A better understanding of how teeth move through the bone will enhance a patient’s treatment experience and results.”
Orthodontic Practice US is a respected national publication geared toward prominent orthodontists who desire to run an elite practice. Each issue is sent to more than 10,000 orthodontists across the country and contains practice management tips, compelling articles written by industry leaders, case studies and new product information.
Dr. Stosich kicked off his series examining the biology of tooth movement in the November/December 2013 issue. He outlined the fundamentals of tooth movement and how the jaw bone’s structure accommodates the “phenomenon” of orthodontic remodeling. Dr. Stosich stressed how significant it is for orthodontists to possess a thorough understanding of bone physiology to achieve optimal results for their patients.
The conversation continued in the second and third installments of the series. Part two highlighted certain markers of bone cell activity that function as key players in the bone modeling and remodeling process. The series concluded in part three, where Dr. Stosich cited scientific research to explain the importance of force magnitude, its different types and their clinical consequences.
“…the optimal level of magnitude that is best for orthodontic tooth movement remains unclear. Yet a safe and fundamental principle, with the goal of proper clinical magnitude selection, is the minimization of errors and reduced patient trauma from various force applications.”
The scientific intricacies of orthodontics probably don’t interest most of our patients. However, you should view Dr. Stosich’s feature in the magazine as more evidence of his incredible expertise and qualifications. If he can educate other professionals, lead groundbreaking industry studies and resolve the world’s most complex cases as the University of Chicago Medical Center, he can provide each of his patients at Stosich Consulting with an aligned and healthy smile in an exceptionally efficient and comfortable manner.
